2004 Season - Week 11

He was the first pick in the NFL Draft back in April but now Eli Manning gets a bigger honour as he is the first player signed on Trading Day 2. All in all 26 players were cut by 10 of the owners. Cheryl cut 5 of her players including her 2004-5 Franchise RB Stephen Davis who was placed on IR by Carolina. 3 players were cut from each of Carolina, Dallas and Washington. Unsurprisingly the most popular team in the BUMS now is the explosive Indianapolis Colts who are represented by 9 players including the Coach, Kicker, QB, a Running Back, 3 Wide Receivers and 2 Tight Ends. Peyton’s Pace. I’m sure you are aware that Eli’s older brother is playing quite well. Peyton leads all BUMS players with 105 points and is on pace for 153 points. In the NFL Peyton is chasing one of the great records - Dan Marino’s 20 year old record of 48 TD’s passes in a season. How big is the record, well 2nd place goes to Marino in 1986 with 44 scores and 3rd all-time is Kurt Warner in the Rams heyday of 1999 with just 41 passes (7 off the record!). Peyton threw another 4 TD’s yesterday and now has 35 TD tosses so far which would extrapolate to 51 scores in a 16 game season. To break Marino’s record Peyton needs 14 scores in the last 7 games - he’s thrown 14 in the last 3! Wayne’s World. Last week Wayne entered the Hall of Fame for the second time in three weeks as he totalled 57 points. He has now been in the Hall five times one shy of Mark who has the most visits. Wayne has also moved well clear at the top of the Premiership as he rides Peyton’s phenomenal season. Manning has scored 54 points in the last 5 games. BUMS on Seats.
